There's a Japanese saying — "Asking is a moment's shame, but not asking is a shame for life." How long can someone keep carrying that embarrassment, really?

I love this saying and I totally agree. We tend to learn the hard way that it's better not to go alone.

What stood out to me here is the idea that shame often survives not because it is true, but because it remains unspoken. The description of carrying an old critical voice for years, then finally risking honesty in a safe space, captures something many people recognize.

Relief does not arrive because the past changes. It arrives because the burden is no longer carried alone...
